DO YOU OFFER A FREE CONSULTATION?

Yes, The Journey Center offers a free 15-20 minute telehealth video or in person consultation. Just schedule a time through the website link. It’s important to learn more about how you are feeling now, and where you have been, so we can create a new road map to get you where you want to be as a person. We will make a plan to move forward together if we both feel the connection is right.

After our initial consultation you can then schedule appointments directly though our website link/EHR. An email with your will be sent and with session reminders and/or a link for video telehealth sessions. All new client forms can be filled out online before we meet again.

HOW DO I schedule a therapy session?

Scheduling appointments is so easy! Just click on our website scheduling link and it will take you directly to a secure portal to make your first appointment through our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. The times that you see listed are the only times available and the calendar is always up to date. You may schedule appointments for telehealth or in office as the calendar states is available.

For telehealth, we will connect online through our video platform in our Electronic Health Record system and you will be emailed a link to join for each scheduled session. If you can stream a video on your phone or computer, then your connection should work great for online therapy too! You can choose the private location for your session that works best for your day. Feel free to choose a location that is comfortable and safe for you to have our appointments (home, work office, car, backyard, whatever will work for you…I am such a nature lover myself!).

For in office appointments, you will need to know that the front door is locked during sessions and there is no internal waiting room. There is a availability indicator on the front door and I will slide it to “welcome, please knock” when I am ready to have you come on in and “do not disturb” when we are in session. Waiting in your car before your session time will be a great option as there are many parking spots available in front of the office or nearby.

How often will we meet?

We will make a plan together that will best help you meet your goals and treatment needs. Everyone is very different in what their needs and interests are for counseling and therapy. Ongoing counseling and therapy sessions are typically for 1 hour. How often we will meet may vary. If the treatment concerns came up very recently, we will make a plan to meet for 3-8 sessions. If symptoms have been present and intrusive for years, we will likely meet longer, typically 12 sessions. When investing in your own self care, it is often true that the more consistent we can be in connecting, the sooner you will see and feel results in yourself. Typically, appointments are weekly to start. For a few, it will be more frequent if the intensity or challenge warrant more treatment support. Others may only need to meet every other week. We will work together to discuss where to start and when to complete mental health treatment supports services.

WHY ONLINE? Telehealth?

Sometimes it just isn’t going to work to make it into someone’s office for traditional counseling and therapy services. Or you just might be more comfortable meeting in surroundings that are familiar to you, like your own home with comfy yoga pants on. Or, like recently, there might be a world wide health pandemic that keeps us from meeting in person. Online therapy will offer the same therapeutic benefits with increased flexibility on location, travel, and time missed from other life needs. We will schedule appointments to meet online in a secure video platform through our Electronic Health Record system. This will allow your location to vary, whether you are at home, your office, parked car, or in between medical appointments Online telehealth can connect to you and allow for flexibility in this very busy and challenging time of life.

I would be happy to provide you with a “super bill” that you may submit to your insurance provider to seek reimbursement for out of network counseling and therapy services.
